Wen-Jiun  Rebecca Huang (Ph.D.)


Wen-Jiun Huang is assistant professor at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Department of Applied Languages. She received her Ph.D. from the Ohio State University, Program of Language, Literacy, and Culture in 2001. Her research and teaching interests include second/foreign language education, multicultural education, and global education.

Hua-Bi Penny Yang 


Born in 1990 in Taiwan. Penny’s college major was English and Spanish as a secondary language, within the Applied Foreign Languages department at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
In addition to language learning and academic performances, Penny grabs chances to do things she does not know, such as learning design techniques, joining in school clubs (NTUST Friendship Ambassador and Koala Club), attending various speeches, etc. Moreover, she is passionate about drawing and designing; as a result, she dreams about publishing a picture book for children all over the world. “Before I die, I want to be able to say that I’ve truly lived” is what Penny deeply believes in. Therefore, she seldom says “NO” to learning, trying, and doing things she never did before. After graduating from the college, Penny hopes to apply what she learned from both academic courses and extracurricular activities to her future career.

Han-Wei Monica Chu


Monica majors in Applied Foreign Languages and studies Technology Management for her minor degree in NTUST. In addition to studying English, Monica chose Japanese as her second language; she also has a lot of interests in learning Korean. She loves watching dramas and movies, listening to the music, traveling, learning about the culture of countries, and hanging out with friends and her family.
During the campus life, Monica belonged to the school club called NTUST Friendship Ambassador. She learned many things about how to dress up in suits, greet and receive guests. Seeing guest’s smiles and solving people’s problems make her happy and bring a sense of achievements to her. After joining this club, she has a dream to be a flight attendant. In the future Monica also wants to run a store which offers groceries to customers.

Yow-Ling Alexandra Shen


Born in November 26, 1990. Alexandra studied at the Applied Foreign Languages Department in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. She not only majored in English but also learned Spanish and a little Japanese. Alexandra is an outgoing and open-minded girl. As a result, she likes traveling and meeting new friends. She also learned Chinese Zither (古箏) when she was a little child. Besides this, Alexandra likes to read books in her free time. She enjoys soaking herself in a book and coffee in the afternoon. Playing Chinese Zither and reading books are two of the ways that she relaxes herself. Moreover, Alexandra loves her life very much and she always looks on the bright side of everything.
During her academic life at NTUST, she found that she was interested in Interpretation. Alexandra is trying her best to become a good interpreter in the future by practicing interpreting and shadowing some short clips on Ted.com. Besides, she achieved 190 in TOEIC Speaking Test when she was junior. 
Alexandra keeps Albert Einstein's saying as her life philosophy "You never fail until you stop trying."

Shiou-Ren Hannah Wen

As a child growing up in Lukang, a friendly and lovely town in Changhua, Hannah loves to make contact with other people and give them happiness and warmth. She majors in English and  also minors in Educational Program in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
Hannah is a person who enjoys learning and trying something new, so she took part in a lot of extracurricular activities when she was a college student, such as joining school clubs, teaching children English, attending many lectures, and so on. Since she loves to learn new things, she always brings a book with her so that she can absorb new knowledge at any time. With a strong passion for writing and photography, Hannah writes articles on her personal blog. Her biggest dream is to spread her belief "Be happy every day, or you will commit a sin" through her articles to people around the world and do something good for the world to make it better and better in the future!
